Hudson Homes staff banded together as a team and participate in the 46th City2Surf
City2Surf is Sydney’s most iconic running event, covering a fantastic course that runs from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD, past the beautiful harbour bays of Double Bay and Rose Bay, then leading up to the most memorable struggle dubbed as ‘Heart Break Hill’, moving along the most scenic parts of the course, with the finish line at the world famous and spectacular Bondi Beach.
Glorious sunshine greeted over 80,000 participants that included 20 dedicated employees from Hudson Homes. We had staff in all categories from Runners, Fun Runners to Walkers and Strollers, a real diverse range of athletic ability coming together to donate their time for charity. We wanted to donate to numerous charity instead of just one worthy charity. Hudson Homes staff donated to The Heart Foundation, Leukemia Foundation, RSPCA and The Kids Hospital.
When our athletes were tired they pushed through with the help of 20 music stations donating their time to keep everyone motivated and help them push through. For the last two years, City2Surf has been recognised as the largest timed fun run in the world, it is truly a community event. It empowered our staff and has allowed them to band together and work with other departments within Hudson Homes that they may not have had the opportunity to without the availability of the City2Surf.
